I was recently helping a friend and colleague the other day rebuild her website. I'd watched her site go up and I was like, "What IS she doing?"

So I emailed her and asked her stuff like...

"Are you researching your keywords?"
"Why do all of your pages look different?"
"What kind of a template are you using?"
"Do you even want your site to be found?"
"What's this SEO program teaching you that you're wasting your money on?"

I felt so bad for her! I really want her business to succeed because she's put so much time and effort into it. And it's her passion! But I had to be honest with her. The so-called "professional SEO" (Search Engine Optimization) package she bought into wasn't even coming close to being worth what she was paying for it.

SEO is a process that's supposed to help your website get greater visibility by making the sites search engine friendly, which means if the program she bought was any good at all, it would have taught her that the very first thing you have to do in a search engine optimization strategy is build solid website that makes sense, a site that the search engines are going to find. That's supposed to be step #1 in any SEO strategy.

So I decided to rebuild a couple of her pages and I showed her the difference between the free template she was using with her host and the template I was using on mine, especially behind the scenes in the HTML code, which is what the search engine spiders look at.

HTML code is the "language" that the browsers read to turn the code into a visible website on your browser. If your right click on just about any website and select View Source, you'll see all this code. But if you use SBI! to build your website, you don't even have to know what "html" is, let alone how to use it to build a website. And they don't add extra junk to the code either!

The Down Side to Most Free Website Templates

It turned out that every time she did anything in the template, the website host was adding all kinds of unnecessary code to the site that literally would confuse anyone or anything, especially search engine spiders and bots. It was a horrible mess! No wonder no one was finding her site!

You can see in this video how I cleaned up her site's code just by eliminating all the "crap" code that her web host was adding to her site's code behind the scenes, which ultimately restricted her site from being found by the search engines because they had so much code to wade through before getting to the meat of her site - the content.

And not only is it easy to take care of and easy to update, the search engine's can FIND it now because only the important code is in the site.

And unfortunately, this is a problem with a lot of "free" templates with the "cheap" web hosts out there. If you don't know html and css, then you're stuck with having to use a free template that's not going to get you found online.

So as I'm showing her things and rebuilding her site, she says, "Where did you learn all this stuff? In school?" I was like, "No. I actually learned all of this before I went back to school. This is all the stuff I've been learning for the last two years with SBI!" She was like, "Really?"

Now I'm not talking about slapping up a quick page to sell the latest affiliate program or "make money online fast" product. I’m talking about a real business, one that's going to last and build a real income.

Building a site takes time. Building a site that earns a substantial income can take even longer, especially when you're in a really competitive niche. And what I learned with my two years with SBI! is priceless. Like I said, it's like getting an Online Master's Degree and I would never advise anyone who's just starting out to use anything else to build a solid, reputable website business.

Seriously, if you really know little to nothing about online marketing, let alone know little to no html to build a website, then you shouldn't just get SBI! - you NEED SBI! to get it done right.

But -- why take the risk if you can afford to have the best, right? If your business - or even you personally - can afford the investment, there's no better investment to make, in my personal opinion.

Even if you decide to move your website to another host later on, for whatever reasons, you'll never regret and you'll never forget what you learned by starting out with SBI! to begin with. It's just that good!
